Product Overview

SR-M001 — Smart PIR Motion Sensor SR-M001

Model: Model: SR-M001 |Category:Category: Sensors

The TAOS SR-M001 is a smart pir motion sensor engineered by Zhejiang TAOS Electric (est. 2000) for the Sensors segment of the Smart Home portfolio. It is designed for Tuya / Zigbee 3.0 ecosystems, supports Alexa & Google Home voice control, and complies with CE, RoHS, FCC, IEC 62368-1 and the Tuya Develop certification programme. Listed for export to 30+ countries across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Why Specify SR-M001?

Four engineering decisions that turn this device into a project-grade specification.

Multi-protocol radio core

Zigbee 3.0 plus optional BLE/Wi-Fi keeps the same enclosure deployable across hotel, residential and commercial RFPs.

Years of battery life

Optimised duty-cycle gives 18–36 months on a single CR2450, cutting service-call frequency by 70 %.

Tamper-proof design

Cover-removal alarm, lockable mounting hardware and IP-rated housings built for high-traffic areas.

Dense-mesh resilience

Tuya Zigbee 3.0 stack has been load-tested with 200+ devices on a single coordinator without drop-out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is the sensor powered?
Battery powered (CR2450 / AAA depending on model) with 18–36 month lifetime, or hard-wired DC variants for ceiling installations.
Q: What protocol does it use?
Zigbee 3.0 by default for low power; selected SKUs offer Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for stand-alone use.
Q: What is the detection range?
Refer to the spec table below — typical PIR/mmWave coverage is 6–12 m; door sensors trigger at >25 mm gap.
Q: Does it work with the TAOS Smart Gateway?
Yes. It also pairs with any Tuya Zigbee 3.0 hub; a TAOS gateway extends features such as local scenes and HomeKit relay.
Q: Is it tamper-protected?
Yes, an internal tamper switch sends an alert if the cover is removed.
Q: Can it work outdoors?
Indoor SKUs are IP20; the SR-G001 garage and SR-T001 outdoor variants are IP54-rated for sheltered exterior use.
